Works perfectly at 600x600dpi. 1200x600 requires a special driver. With optional BR-Script2, Postscript2 emulation seems perfect, but slow, at 600x600dpi.
Brother publishes proprietary Linux drivers for CUPS and LPD for most of their laser printers and multi-function devices, including SANE drivers for the scanners. They can be downloaded free of charge on their Linux driver page.
