| Color inkjet printer, max. 9600x2400 dpi, works Perfectly | ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Tested on FC5. Download the RPM's from the Canon website (shown in the Driver section below). After installing the RPM's, start system-config-printer, choose Import PPD and choose /usr/share/cups/model/canonip4200.ppd. After the database rebuilds, choose Add Queue and follow the prompts. It did not auto-detect the model for me, but if you choose the Canon iP4200 driver manually, it should work fine.

| I was looking to download the canonip4200.ppd and found these more recent and appropriate rpm's. They installed ok on PCLinuxOS after installing libxml and the printer seems to work perfectly. The rpm's are: cnijfilter-ip4300-2.70-1.i386.rpm cnijfilter-common-2.70-1.i386.rpm Installed these drivers on openSUSE 10.3. Printer not automatically detected by KDEPrint but can be selected manually. Canon driver appears as 'IP4300'. Gutenprint appears as 'Pixma IP 4300'. Only 600x600 resolution seems to be available. Prints excellent text at this resolution. Duplex works. Key select between cassette and manual feed also working fine. Gimp set up not yet configured satisfactorily. | ||||||||

| Tried out with TurboPrint and it works perfectly. The driver/product is commercial, but has a test version that prints TurboPrint's logo on colour pages. It can be found at http://www.turboprint.info/ | ||||||||
