Currently Samsung supports this printer with proprietary drivers which come with the printer on its driver CD or can be downloaded on the web sites of Samsung. Unfortunately, these drivers do not work necessarily with all Linux distributions. You will therefore probably get it more easily working by using standard PCL drivers as "pxlmono" or "hpijs-pcl5e".

As a rule you get an ML-1450 with 4MB of RAM 
and a Samsung driver that does not support 1200dpi although
the box and the vendors boast about it. The memory can 
be extended with an old good EDO SIMM. The Samsung driver
should be dumped and plxmono should be used instead to get 1200dpi.
Unfortunately, that means to forget all ML-1450 features that the
generic plcmono is unaware of.
